Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Heavy Haul Truck/Trailer Inspector to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, compliance, and optimal performance of heavy haul trucks and trailers. Your expertise will help maintain our high safety standards and keep our fleet operating smoothly on coast-to-coast routes. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of heavy haul trucks and trailers, focusing on structural integrity, mechanical systems, and safety features Verify compliance with federal and state regulations related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle standards Perform detailed assessments of vehicle components such as brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems Identify mechanical issues or safety concerns using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hands-on testing methods Document inspection results accurately and communicate necessary repairs or maintenance needs to the maintenance team Assist with equipment repairs or maintenance as needed, including tire service, welding, or minor mechanical fixes Utilize hand tools and power tools for equipment maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols Qualifications Dealership experience or background in heavy equipment operation highly preferred Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, automotive diagnostics, and vehicle systems repair Familiarity with schematics, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspension components, and diesel engine repair Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, tractor-trailer inspections, and equipment maintenance Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices Knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery or industrial equipment is advantageous Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions Join us as a Heavy Haul Truck/Trailer Inspector and be part of a dedicated team committed to safety excellence!
