Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Yard Jockey, where you will play a vital role in efficiently maneuvering and positioning trailers within the yard to support seamless logistics operations. Your expertise in truck driving, coupled with your ability to handle various trailer types, will ensure safe and timely movement of freight across our facility. This position offers an energetic environment where your skills directly contribute to maintaining smooth supply chain flow and operational excellence. This is a 2nd shift position (3:00pm - 12:00am). Bilingual candidates strongly preferred. Responsibilities Safely operate yard trucks and tractor-trailers with manual transmission to move freight within the yard and connect/disconnect trailers. Load, unload, and position a variety of trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight carriers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and trailers to ensure safety standards are met. Assist with trailer swaps, repositioning, and staging for delivery or pickup routes. Use forklift or other equipment as needed to load or unload freight from trailers. Follow route driving procedures for delivery drivers when transporting trailers to designated locations. Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements, inspections, and any incidents or discrepancies encountered during shifts. Skills Proven experience driving commercial vehicles with manual transmissions in a yard or delivery setting. Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Strong knowledge of load & unload procedures for various freight types. Ability to perform precise trailer coupling/uncoupling and maneuvering in tight yard spaces. Skilled in using forklift equipment for freight handling when necessary. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations. Experience with route driving and delivery operations preferred for those supporting route-based tasks. $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
