Job Description

GFL Environmental is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate trucks and heavy equipment in support of waste and recycling operations. In this role, you will load, transport, and unload materials, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and complete basic equipment maintenance. You'll follow strict safety and environmental procedures while working with a team to meet daily service schedules. Responsibilities Operate trucks and heavy equipment to support waste and recycling operations Load, transport, and unload solid and recyclable materials safely and efficiently Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document equipment condition Follow safety, environmental, and
DOT/OSHA
regulations at all times Complete basic preventive maintenance and report mechanical issues Work with dispatch and site supervisors to meet daily service schedules Maintain clean, organized equipment and work areas Use radios and onboard systems to receive and update work orders Required Skills Heavy equipment operation CDL truck driving Forklift operation Load securement Preventive equipment maintenance Safety and OSHA compliance Waste handling and disposal Basic equipment inspection and reporting Two-way radio communication Time management
