Waste Connections is seeking a Local Route Driver / Container Washer to support our essential waste collection and environmental services operation. In this field-based role, you will safely operate local route trucks to service residential and commercial customers, collecting and transporting containers within a set area-no long-haul or overnight trips. You will also be responsible for washing and sanitizing containers using company equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and environmental compliance. Daily duties include pre- and post-trip inspections, following established routes and schedules, completing basic paperwork or electronic logs, and communicating with dispatch and supervisors. Responsibilities Safely operate local route trucks to collect waste containers from residential and commercial customers Inspect, load, and unload containers following safety and environmental regulations Wash, clean, and disinfect containers using company equipment and procedures Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and document any maintenance needs Follow assigned daily routes, schedules, and service standards Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers in a professional manner Maintain accurate service records and basic paperwork or electronic logs Adhere to company safety policies, DOT regulations, and PPE requirements Support team members and assist with additional route or yard tasks as needed Required Skills Commercial driving Route navigation Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Safe loading and unloading Pressure washing and container cleaning Knowledge of DOT and safety regulations Time management Basic recordkeeping and log completion Customer service Use of PPE and safety procedures
