Job Description
Summary The Lead Delivery Driver plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations, while interacting with customers, Sales Representatives, and drivers on a daily basis to meet the expectations of the business. They are responsible for delivering, unloading and checking in the product to customers each day. Our driver leads assist the supervisors. Assisting with training, company and branch standards, DOT compliance, and providing leadership to the delivery department. Primary Responsibilities Oversee workflow of assigned delivery team Assist with new driver onboarding including the driver qualification files Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards established by management Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others you come into contact with throughout your job Communicate with supervisors and provide feedback related to personnel issues, mechanical and system issues, logistical issues, and customer service issues Assist leading the delivery drivers in a supervisor's absence Adhere to and follow all Company policies, procedures and governmental regulations Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulations Balance invoices, money, and inventory Provide excellent customer service to all assigned accounts Work with sales team members on a continual basis to support and evaluate customer's needs Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the Company's Core Values at all times Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned Key Competencies Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong conflict resolution Effective organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and meet deadlines People Management None Work Environment This job operates indoors and outdoors. Physical Demands Use power/manual pallet jack Lift/carry and push/pull 35 lbs. repetitively, moving kegs up to 165 lbs. Bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, days and hours of work vary and may include weekends and overtime. Travel Local travel only. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) Maintain valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and current certifications Preferred Education and Experience Six months previous driving experience Previous grocery or retail experience Compensation Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
