Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and versatile On-Call CDL Driver / Equipment Operator to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks and various equipment to transport freight across diverse routes. This position offers flexible on-call opportunities, allowing you to contribute your driving expertise while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and efficient logistics operations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local destinations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, adhering to safety protocols for manual handling and cargo security. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transportation. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving routes. Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and equipment such as flatbeds Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when loading or unloading cargo; physical stamina required. Excellent driving record with a commitment to safe driving practices in compliance with all DOT regulations.
