Job Description

The Dalles Disposal , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety minded Transfer Station Attendant to join our team in The Dalles, Oregon . Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday Shift is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM , overtime opportunities often Starting wage is $34.98/hour with an increase to $36.20/hour at 6-months pending a positive performance review.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station. Safely and efficiently operate forklift, backhoe , and/or front-end loader . May run errands using company vehicle as needed. Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers. Track measurement information in computer system. Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material. Work on your feet outside throughout your shift. Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed. Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to operate a company motor vehicle safely and efficiently. Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Must be dependable with an ability to lead. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day. This is a physical job working in a covered area as well as outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. To be eligible for employment, candidate must pass a criminal background check , & drug panel screening as well as have an acceptable motor vehicle report .
