Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL Driver operating under a 1099 independent contractor arrangement! This role offers an exciting opportunity to navigate Local delivering freight across Eastern regions with professionalism and precision. You will be responsible for safely transporting a variety of cargo, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialized freight such as flatbed or tanker loads. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient and timely deliveries across assigned routes Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods Comply strictly with FMCSA, DOT, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards during all phases of transportation Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, logs, and inspection reports Maintain professional communication with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed loads, tanker operations, and automobile transportation is highly desirable Valid CDL license Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, load securement, hazardous materials handling, and safety protocols Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments Prior delivery driver experience involving truck loading/unloading and logistics cargo handling Required Clean Driving Record greater than 2 years.
