Job Overview Cairns Consulting is contracted with a local company in Freeport, PA who need experienced CDL Drivers (Class B) for short-haul, tri-axle dump trucks. This is a permanent position.

Freeport, PA Paid Time Off Responsibilities Safely operate a dump truck to transport coal within local routes while adhering to safety protocols. Completes all driver logs and related paperwork effectively and timely. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Ability to drive through all weather, road and traffic conditions. Must be able to recognize, read and understand Hazardous Materials documents. Manage heavy lifting tasks associated with loading and unloading materials safely. Utilize mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting and basic vehicle maintenance when necessary. Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure the safety of oneself and others on the road. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B. Favorable driving record (MVR). Must be able to commute to Freeport, PA. Meets the minimum physical requirements stipulated in Section 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test as well as be subject to and pass random drug and alcohol tests as required. Proven experience in commercial driving, especially hauling coal, asphalt, aggregate, etc. Experience operating dump trucks is highly preferred. Ability to perform manual lifting of heavy loads safely as needed. Familiarity with local traffic laws and DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation. Mechanical knowledge related to truck operation and basic maintenance.

Pay:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 50.0 - 60.0 per week
