Duties Operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Safely load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques and proper cargo handling procedures. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Manage automobile transportation tasks, including vehicle delivery and pickup, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for load stability, tire condition, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigeration units, refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and tractor-trailers. Strong knowledge of route planning using GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery routes. Ability to handle hazardous materials safely in accordance with hazardous materials regulations. Skilled in truck loading and unloading techniques, including manual handling of logistics cargo handling. Experience with delivery driving on route driving schedules across diverse terrains. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks is preferred. Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
