Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced, at least 1 year, Class A CDL Truck Driver experienced or knowledgeable in the home construction industry to join our team. No tarping required. Individuals in this position are responsible for transporting pre-cast concrete wall panels to job sites and assisting with unloading the truck. Drivers will need to climb a ladder approximately 15 feet to hook the crane to the walls. Drivers will also assist, as needed, with other tasks in the setting of the walls. Drivers are home daily and have no weekend runs. The excellent candidate will have experience driving off road and to construction sites, have the ability to follow ground guides and provide hand signals to set crew members and crane operators. Driver will be exposed to all weather conditions and must effectively serve as a member of a team.Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre and post trip inspections as required by federal regulations.
- Check straps to make sure walls are secure prior to leaving ACS premises.
- Operate a Class A truck/trailer through all types of environments, including off road on job sites.
- Assists crane operator by helping attach crane rigging to panels during unloading.
- Assist set-crew team as needed.
- Prepare empty trailers for return to plant.
- Transport decked trailers.
- Refuel and clean vehicle.
- Report road incidents to Field Operations Manager/Site & Crew Coordinator.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Report mechanical problems to garage.
- Keep commercial driver license current.
- Keep medical certificate current.
- Provide hand signals to crane operators.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maneuver trucks into unloading position, following signals from set crew and crane operators, when necessary.
- Couple and uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines, and manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
- Remove loose debris from trailers.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A) with one year of experience preferably in an off-road or construction setting
- Current medical card
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair

- The ability to concentrate and not be distracted while driving
- The ability to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
- The ability to think quickly and react to situations on the highway
- The product being hauled is heavy. Loss of a load on a highway could create a catastrophic accident. Drivers need to make sure they are taking the time to secure their load correctly.
- Be aware of the weight being transported, access to job sites and excavation hazards.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be working in outside weather conditions. Individuals will be exposed to wet, cold and humid conditions, fumes and vibration.
- The noise level is moderate when working in the field.
- Ground on job sites may be uneven and difficult to walk on.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (hard hats/work boots)
- Must be able to wear safety harnesses
- Must be able to climb in and out of the truck cab
- Must be able to climb a ladder up to 15 feet
- Must be able to use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to balance, bend with knees and walk
