Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, goods, and materials to various destinations while ensuring compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route planning, and cargo handling will be vital in delivering exceptional service and maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities Safely operate a vacuum truck for the oil and gas industry Follow designated routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques or equipment Ensure proper securing of freight. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving roles with a focus on freight delivery. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker, flatbed). Skilled in driving manual transmission vehicles and operating various truck types such as tractor-trailers or dump trucks. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during load & unload operations. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures including freight security and documentation requirements. Physical ability to lift heavy loads when necessary and perform routine vehicle inspections.
