Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across diverse routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialty loads like flatbeds and tankers. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor delivery schedules, and adapt to route changes efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during every phase of transportation. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports related to cargo handling, route driving, and load & unload activities. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving or freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers or other specialized equipment is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle logistics cargo handling tasks effectively. Strong navigation skills using GPS systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Excellent manual handling skills for loading/unloading freight safely and efficiently.
