SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Will be an experienced tractor trailer driver in a Shuttle Driver role focused on moving trailers from one location to the next. The Individual is responsible for ensuring we are in D.O.T. and safety compliance in all areas of the position.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with D.O.T regulations.
• Make trailer moves timely and safely as needed.
• Ensure that ALL trailers that are in doors are chocked and have a nose stand.
• Comply with ALL Silgan Safety Rules and Dress codes including the use of Safety Vests while on the premises.
• Complete a Yard check daily and turn it into Shipping.
• Maintain radio contact with the operation.
• Complete a pre-trip & post-trips daily and turn into shipping.
• Make sure that all trailer doors (whether empty or loaded) are CLOSED when in motion.
• Report ALL Accidents and Injuries Immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma Required:

Valid

CDL-A EXPERIENCE

Required:

1 Year Tractor Trailer Driving and or Yard Spotting.

Preferred:

2 Year Tractor Trailer Driving and or Yard Spotting. 1-3 years Blow Mold experience

Hours:

12-hour shift, 7pm - 7am work 3 days one week 4 days the other rotation. Every other weekend.

SKILLS:

Required:

Certified forklift operator

• Must be able to back into multiple Dock Doors repeatedly.
• Must be able to Drop and Hook repeatedly in all kinds of weather.
• Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Must be maintain both CDL A and Med card.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

(if applicable): Must maintain your CDLA and Med card at all times.
