Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialized freight, will be essential to our success. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment for diverse freight types Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) routes Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper cargo handling and securement according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards during transportation and delivery processes Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any issues promptly Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or potential delays Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker) Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, or tanker cargo Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving routes Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations Experience with logistics cargo handling and transportation of dangerous goods or hazardous materials is preferred Strong driving record with a focus on safety and compliance Driving Record Requirements No more than three moving violations within the last three years. No more than one serious moving violation within the last three years. No rail-crossing violations within the last three years. No super-serious violations within the last five years. No preventable accidents involving failure to maintain control. No careless, reckless, unsafe, inattentive, or negligent driving violations. No violations connected to a fatal accident. Must successfully complete motor vehicle record, background, and employment-verification screenings.
