6 - 10 PM - Availability 3-4 days per week, transfer center is open daily
Position Summary:
The Trash Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the community's waste disposal areas. This position is responsible for monitoring and assisting residents with proper trash and recycling disposal, ensuring compliance with community guidelines, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the trash center. The Trash Attendant will also support operational needs by reporting maintenance issues, managing bulk item drop-offs, and coordinating with the Department of Public Works for efficient waste handling. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Receives and completes all work assignments according to daily schedule as designated.
  • Directs and assists residents in the disposal of household trash and recyclables according to set policies and procedures.
  • Performs recycling and separation of materials as needed.
  • Operates compactor according to manufacturer's procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Completes compactor breakdown and set-up procedures in accordance with scheduled pick-up times.
  • Collects garbage and recyclables from association buildings and residences as directed.
  • Collects refuse in other areas as required.
  • Follows all written and verbal instructions provided by supervisor. Responds to complaints in a professional manner as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety guidelines.
  • Maintains log of daily collection activities and provides monthly summary reports to supervisor.
  • Maintains professional appearance at all times and displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
Skills and Qualifications Customer Service Skills:
Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with residents, vendors, and staff.
Reliability & Punctuality:
Consistently dependable with a strong work ethic and attention to schedule.
Physical Stamina:
Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Attention to
Detail:
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the trash center and identifies issues proactively.
Safety Awareness:
Follows all safety procedures and uses equipment properly to prevent accidents or injuries.
Communication Skills:
Able to report maintenance issues clearly and follow verbal and written instructions.
Team-Oriented :
Works cooperatively with the Department of Public Works and other departments as needed.
Basic Problem-Solving:
