Duties Safely operate a tri axle dump truck on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight including construction materials, hazardous goods, or other cargo using manual handling techniques and proper equipment. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure accurate delivery routes while optimizing efficiency across flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailer configurations as needed. Transport freight across long distances, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods or hazardous substances. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Perform routine inspections of the truck's mechanical systems, safety features, and load security before and after trips. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on tractor-trailer operations, including route driving and freight delivery. Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission trucks and operate specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tanker trucks. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including freight requiring refrigerated trailers or hazardous materials handling. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or other specialized cargo as applicable. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation.
