Job Description

Hilltop Lab Animals is looking for a interstate drivers to operate light duty company-owned cargo vehicles reliably with limited supervision. Hilltop drivers transport live laboratory animals (rats, mice and guinea pigs) as well as related research materials in climate-controlled vehicles to customers across the eastern united states. Most trips only involve one or two delivery locations as opposed to multi-stop delivery routes. Longer trips can include a paid hotel stay with a $100 bonus. Typical vehicles include minivans such as the Toyota Sienna and full-size vans such as the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that are all equipped with automatic transmissions. Due to the time-sensitive nature of shipments, drivers must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Departure times may vary based on customer need which frequently include early morning departures. Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license. However, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required. Applicants will be required to provide a clean MVR and pass a background check. Applicants will be reimbursed $15.00 at the interview for providing their MVR. Pay is based on hours worked, mileage and bonuses. Drivers also receive a food allowance while traveling. Full time and part time positions are available. Annual pay estimate is based on full-time employment. Hourly rate is $17.00/hr, $17.50/hr after the first 90 days and $19.00/hr after a year and covers time not on the road. Mileage rate is $0.42 per mile Bonuses are usually $1000-$2000 a year with additional bonuses for each incident free year. This position is ideal for self-motivated individuals who enjoy driving long distance and working independently.
