Job Description
Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking a CDL Driver Trainee to support our environmental services and used oil recycling operations. In this entry-level role, you'll work alongside experienced drivers to collect, transport, and unload used oil and related environmental waste from industrial, automotive, and commercial customers. You will learn safe driving practices, vehicle inspections, DOT and OSHA compliance, and accurate completion of manifests and logs. Responsibilities Assist experienced CDL drivers with collection and transport of used oil and environmental waste Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings Load and unload containers, drums, and bulk liquids safely and efficiently Follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety, environmental, and compliance procedures Complete required logs, manifests, and basic paperwork accurately Communicate with dispatch, customers, and supervisors regarding routes and service needs Maintain clean, safe equipment and work areas Participate in company training to obtain CDL and required endorsements Use basic handheld devices or onboard systems for routing and documentation Support emergency or after-hours operations as needed Required Skills Commercial driving fundamentals Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Knowledge of DOT safety and hours-of-service rules Hazardous materials handling Load securement Paperwork and manifest completion Basic GPS/route navigation and onboard systems Industrial safety and PPE use Customer service in field operations Time management and route planning
