Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and other freight across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to navigate diverse terrains will ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks and tractor-trailers in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Safely load, unload, and secure freight including construction materials, debris, or hazardous goods using manual handling techniques. Navigate assigned routes using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely delivery across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local destinations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning of brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries while adhering to route schedules. Handle truck loading and unloading processes efficiently while ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, or specialized freight such as hazardous or dangerous goods is a plus. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently on various terrains and weather conditions. Knowledge of route driving best practices along with proficiency in GPS navigation tools. Experience in delivery driving within logistics environments involving freight handling and truck loading/unloading. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of cargo transported; Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required initially. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols for over-the-road (OTR) transportation.
