Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm Position Summary Community Nursing Services (CNS) is Utah's second-largest nonprofit home health and hospice organization, serving patients across nine locations in partnership with University of Utah Health and Huntsman Cancer Institute. CNS is seeking a dedicated Full-Time HME Service Technician Driver to join our Respiratory Services division — a key part of CNS's commitment to providing patients with the best care available in the comfort of their own home. In this role, you will serve as a frontline representative of CNS, delivering durable medical equipment (DME), oxygen, and respiratory supplies directly to patients in their homes across the greater Salt Lake City area. You'll work alongside clinical and warehouse staff to ensure patients receive timely, safe, and compassionate service.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly:
Starting at $18.00 an hour we offer more based on experience, education, and work history
Mileage:
$0.60/mile reimbursement for qualified travel
On-Call:
As needed with shift unit compensation + hourly - ON -CALL

Better work-life balance than facility-based shifts and patient ratios 1:1 patient care with strong clinical support Autonomy with fewer interruptions Meaningful relationships built in the home environment Key Responsibilities Deliver DME, oxygen, and respiratory supplies directly to patients in their homes in a timely, safe, and professional manner Set up, demonstrate, and educate patients and caregivers on proper and safe use of home medical equipment Prepare and stage patient orders for delivery, including loading and securing equipment for transport Pick up and return supplies, sharps containers, and rental equipment from discharged or transitioning patients Clean, inspect, and process returned DME in the rental return area per infection control policy; restore items to clean/patient-ready status Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on DME in accordance with company policy; document all maintenance activity in the inventory/tracking system Assemble new DME per manufacturer guidelines and company policy in preparation for delivery Maintain accurate and complete delivery documentation, including patient visit reports, delivery confirmations, and equipment tracking forms Communicate proactively with clinical staff and other personnel regarding patient observations, equipment issues, and supply needs Coordinate closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure compliance with infection control policies when handling clean and soiled equipment Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area and delivery vehicle in accordance with company policy Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict patient confidentiality Report equipment hazards, product incidents, or patient concerns to management promptly May participate in on-call rotation as needed to meet patient care demands Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 6 months of delivery, warehouse, or healthcare technician experience preferred Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance required Familiarity with DME or HME products and services preferred; willingness to develop and maintain product knowledge required Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and clinical staff Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on medical equipment Ability to navigate routing software and complete required electronic documentation Knowledge of HIPAA and infection control practices preferred Ability to maintain flexible availability to meet patient needs, including occasional on-call coverage Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy equipment and materials — up to 75 lbs regularly Ability to load and unload delivery vehicles, including maneuvering large and bulky items Prolonged periods of driving, standing, bending, and reaching Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including patient homes, care facilities, and outdoor settings Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens or hazardous materials Must be physically capable of safely operating a company vehicle and performing deliveries under all weather conditions Additional Information This job summary outlines the general nature and level of responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list of all duties or skills required.
