Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver, where you'll be at the forefront of delivering essential freight across long distances with energy and precision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. Your expertise will ensure timely, safe deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Duties Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialty trucks on over-the-road routes. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across multiple locations. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety compliance. Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual tie-downs to prevent shifting during transit. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards related to trucking and cargo handling. Maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and compliance paperwork. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure safety on the road. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers, tankers, flatbeds, or refrigerated trailers. Proven experience in truck driving, delivery driving, or logistics cargo handling within an over-the-road (OTR) setting. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient long-distance travel. Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures and equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks when necessary. Understanding of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification if required. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently; experience with manual handling of freight is a plus. Strong adherence to FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols during all phases of transportation.
