CDL A Driver Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. | Lincoln, RI Ferreira Construction is seeking an experienced CDL A Driver to join our New England operations based out of our Lincoln, Rhode Island facility. The CDL A Driver will support our heavy civil, utility, transportation, and infrastructure projects throughout New England by safely transporting equipment, materials, and supplies to and from jobsites. This is a great opportunity for a dependable driver who wants steady, year-round work with an established construction company and prefers being part of an active construction operation rather than strictly long-haul trucking. Responsibilities Operate CDL Class A trucks and trailers, including lowboys, flatbeds, dump trailers, and tractor-trailer combinations . Transport heavy construction equipment, materials, tools, aggregate, and supplies between the Lincoln yard, suppliers, and jobsites. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety issues. Maintain required DOT logs, delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other documentation. Safely maneuver large trucks and trailers in active construction sites and congested areas. Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, equipment operators, and yard personnel. Assist with loading and unloading when required. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle. Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and applicable state and federal requirements. Travel throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and other New England locations as project needs require. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL required. Current DOT Medical Card. Clean and acceptable driving record. Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience preferred. Construction or heavy civil experience strongly preferred. Experience hauling heavy equipment, construction materials, or aggregate preferred. Lowboy/low-bed, flatbed, dump trailer, or equipment-hauling experience a plus. Strong knowledge of load securement and DOT requirements. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations. Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screening.
