Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tow Truck Operator and become a vital part of our roadside assistance and vehicle recovery services! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for safely towing and transporting vehicles, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring efficient operations across various towing assignments. Your mechanical aptitude, driving skills, and problem-solving abilities will help keep traffic moving smoothly while delivering top-tier support to our valued clients. Duties Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and hook-and-wheel lifts, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently. Conduct automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition and determine the best towing approach. Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, or forklifts when necessary. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally. Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, including vehicle details, locations, and times for record-keeping and reporting purposes. Perform basic automotive repairs or mechanical troubleshooting when needed to facilitate vehicle recovery or transport. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and traffic laws during all operations to protect yourself, colleagues, and the public. Experience Proven experience operating tow trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques. Familiarity with automotive repair tools and equipment such as flatbeds, forklifts, or other lifting devices. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience driving heavy-duty vehicles preferred. Knowledge of conflict management techniques to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally. Previous mechanic experience or automotive diagnostics training is highly desirable.
