Growth Opportunity to Build Expertise in a Critical Field Operate refuse collection vehicles and equipment to collect, transport, and dispose of waste to designated sites. Ensure safe operations by following all departmental policies, safety standards, and traffic laws. Communicate effectively with the team and Supervisor regarding route progress, delays, and emergencies. Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning to ensure operational readiness. Support team operations by assisting coworkers, completing required training, and fulfilling additional duties as needed. Bonus Strengths Familiarity with JIPSD service area and route navigation. Knowledge of solid waste collection practices, equipment hazards, and safety procedures. Understanding of OSHA standards and state/federal traffic regulations for heavy vehicles. Foundational Skills You Will Bring Ability to safely operate heavy trucks and equipment in varying and sometimes stressful conditions. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team and the public. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and safety.
