Responsibilities Safely operate the refrigerated box truck , follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times across OTR driving routes. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery driving tasks with a focus on customer satisfaction and safety. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to maintain vehicle safety and compliance. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, route adjustments, and address any issues that arise during transit. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is essential. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across various terrains. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Experience transporting refrigerated freight or hazardous materials is a strong plus. Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, cargo handling, load securing, and compliance documentation.
