Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while adhering to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Transport automobile parts or other freight securely, maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout transit. Manage delivery schedules by coordinating with dispatch teams, verifying delivery details, and ensuring accurate documentation of shipments. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Comply with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials (Hazmat), manual handling, and truck loading/unloading procedures. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and incident reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a clean driving record. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and tractor-trailer operations. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), dangerous goods handling, and DOT compliance standards. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently while adhering to safety guidelines. Experience with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking during deliveries. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes including load & unload procedures for freight of various types. Prior experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes that require long-distance travel across multiple states or regions is highly desirable.
