Job Description
Class B CDL Driver - Public Works 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | $18/hr Temp-to-Hire | Weekly Pay Provenance Recruitment & Staffing is currently seeking Class B CDL Drivers to support a local Public Works crew. This is a hands-on driving position responsible for operating solid waste collection vehicles throughout residential and high-traffic areas while safely collecting and transporting residential solid waste and recycling materials.
Job Summary:
This position operates a variety of solid waste vehicles, including rear-loader garbage trucks, clam trucks, and roll-off trucks. Drivers will collect and transport waste and recycling materials to designated transfer stations or disposal facilities. The ideal candidate will have a valid South Carolina Class A or Class B CDL, a current DOT Medical Card, and experience operating commercial or solid waste collection vehicles.Key Responsibilities:
Operate assigned solid waste vehicles through residential and high-traffic areas Operate rear-loader garbage trucks, clam trucks, and roll-off trucks as assigned Collect and transport residential solid waste and recycling materials to designated transfer stations or disposal facilities Operate the main boom/crane, telescopic extension, and grapple bucket when driving a clam truck Deliver empty roll-off containers and pick up full containers for proper disposal Operate hydraulic controls and safely hook and unhook winch cables throughout the workday Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs Inspect vehicles and equipment before and after use to identify maintenance or repair needs Monitor equipment during operation for potential malfunctions or parts requiring replacement Report equipment, maintenance, and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Fleet Division Follow all established safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Requirements:
Valid South Carolina Class A or Class B CDL required Current DOT Medical Card required Experience operating solid waste collection vehicles preferred Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in residential and high-traffic environments Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs Ability to safely operate hydraulic controls and related solid waste equipment Must successfully complete a urine drug screening and criminal background checkJob Type:
