Overview Join our dynamic team as a Delivery Driver (Independent Contractor) and play a vital role in connecting customers with their essential goods! This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate various types of vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, delivering packages efficiently and safely. As an independent contractor, you'll enjoy flexible scheduling while showcasing your driving expertise, manual handling skills, and commitment to excellent customer service. Your dedication will help ensure timely deliveries, uphold safety standards, and enhance customer satisfaction every step of the way. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks or personal vehicles to complete scheduled routes. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Follow established routes using mobile devices for navigation, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Load and unload shipments at warehouses or customer locations, managing heavy lifting with proper techniques. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during route driving. Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages courteously and professionally, addressing customer inquiries when appropriate. Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports related to load & unload activities and route completion. Qualifications Prior delivery driver experience or warehouse experience with familiarity in material handling equipment operation is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is a plus. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely. Knowledge of warehouse operations, moving procedures, and safe lifting practices is advantageous. Familiarity with DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and commercial vehicle operation. Strong driving skills with adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards at all times. Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and communication during deliveries.
