In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver materials efficiently across various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills directly contribute to project success and operational excellence. Duties Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, to transport construction materials, debris, or other freight across diverse routes. Load and unload cargo using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Follow designated routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with hazardous materials regulations if applicable. Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues, safety hazards, or load security concerns. Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and other regulated cargo types such as tanker or tanker loads. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly. Skills Proven experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks in a commercial driving environment. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures for truck driving and cargo handling. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Ability to load & unload freight safely using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when required. Excellent driving record with experience in delivery driving, route driving, and transportation of freight including hazardous or dangerous goods. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and truck loading/unloading processes for logistics cargo handling. Physical ability to handle manual tasks related to truck loading/unloading and cargo securing; capable of working in various weather conditions.
