We're looking for an experienced Lowboy Driver. A lowboy driver operates a specialized semi-trailer with a low deck to safely transport heavy machinery, construction equipment, and oversized loads between jobsites Why Alliance Construction? Key Responsibilities:
1.
Transport Equipment:
Drive a heavy-duty truck to haul large machinery like excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and rollers to and from work areas. 2.
Load and Unload:
Maneuver heavy equipment safely onto and off the lowboy deck, often using ramps or hydraulic neck systems. 3.
Secure Cargo:
Fasten equipment securely using heavy-duty chains, binders, straps, and specialized tie-down methods. 4. Map out travel paths while following state and federal rules for weight, height, and oversized load permits. 5.
Perform Inspections:
Check the truck and trailer before and after every trip to find mechanical issues or safety problems. 6.
Follow Regulations:
Maintain accurate Department of Transportation (DOT) logs and obey
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Requirements and Qualifications:
1.
Valid CDL:
Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
DOT Medical Card:
Must pass a physical exam and maintain a current medical certificate. 2.
Clean Driving Record:
Must have a safe driving history with minimal or no moving violations. 3.
Experience:
Typically requires 1 to 5 years of commercial driving, heavy haul, or equipment transport experience. 4.
Physical Strength:
Ability to climb onto trailers, lift heavy tie-down chains (often 50-75 lbs), and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Apply today!
