Job Description

Overview Join our growing team as a Student Transportation Driver and help provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation for students in the communities we serve. In this important role, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school, after-school programs, tutoring, sports activities, and other approved destinations. Safety is our highest priority. We are looking for dependable, patient, and responsible drivers who understand the importance of punctuality, professionalism, and caring for students. This is a paid position with opportunities for growth as our company continues to expand into additional school districts and service areas. Duties Safely transport students to and from schools, homes, after-school programs, extracurricular activities, and other approved locations. Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure students arrive safely and on time. Use GPS, routing, scheduling, and driver communication software to complete daily trips efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately report any maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable vehicle environment for students. Confirm student pickups and drop-offs using the company's attendance or transportation tracking system. Follow all company safety procedures, school district requirements, traffic laws, and applicable state and local transportation regulations. Ensure students enter and exit the vehicle safely. Maintain appropriate behavior and professionalism while transporting students. Communicate clearly with dispatchers, parents, guardians, school representatives, and company management. Report delays, route changes, student concerns, incidents, or emergencies immediately. Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, inspection reports, attendance records, and other required documentation. Protect student privacy and keep all student, family, school, and route information confidential. Follow emergency procedures and respond calmly and responsibly when unexpected situations occur. Attend required training, safety meetings, and driver development programs. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record. Must meet all company, insurance, school district, and state eligibility requirements. Must successfully complete a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, drug screening, and any additional screenings required by the company or school district. Must be able to complete required driver training, safety training, and student transportation certifications. Strong commitment to student safety, punctuality, and dependable attendance. Ability to use GPS navigation, mobile applications, and transportation software. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain patient, calm, and professional when working with students and families. Ability to follow assigned routes, schedules, policies, and safety procedures. Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location. Must be physically able to enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly and assist students when appropriate. Must be available during morning and afternoon school transportation hours. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Safety Expectations Student safety is the most important responsibility of this position. Drivers must operate vehicles carefully, follow all traffic laws, avoid distracted driving, complete required inspections, and immediately report any unsafe conditions. Drivers are expected to maintain professional boundaries, protect student confidentiality, and provide a respectful and secure transportation experience at all times.
