We're looking for a dependable, motivated Driver / Installation Team Lead who takes pride in doing the job right the first time and has the ability to grow into a leadership role. In this position, you'll deliver, assemble, and install commercial furniture at schools, offices, and other customer locations throughout Tennessee and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on position — not simply a driving job. Our crews provide full-service delivery and installation from unloading and assembly through final placement, cleanup, and removal of packaging materials. You'll initially work alongside our existing installation team while learning our processes and standards, with the expectation of developing into a Team Lead capable of directing a crew and managing assigned installations in the field. This is a temp-to-hire position. The selected candidate will complete initial employment onboarding through Express Employment Professionals and will begin the position through Express, with the opportunity to transition to direct employment with our company upon successful completion of the temp-to-hire period and meeting our performance and employment requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, works well with others, communicates professionally with customers, and can think on their feet when challenges arise. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that completing the job correctly and taking care of the customer are the priorities. What You'll Do Safely operate company box trucks and other company vehicles to complete scheduled deliveries and installations Load company vehicles and prepare furniture and equipment for daily routes Deliver commercial furniture to schools, offices, and other customer locations Load and unload trucks and trailers, including floor-loaded freight, using provided equipment such as dollies Assemble, install, and place furniture according to project plans and customer requirements Use hand and power tools to complete furniture assembly, installation, and minor field adjustments Verify deliveries and installations against project paperwork and placement information Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and other members of the installation team Identify and resolve installation issues in the field using good judgment and problem-solving skills Manage time effectively to keep deliveries and installations on schedule Maintain a clean and professional job site throughout the installation Complete final cleanup and remove/dispose of cardboard, packaging materials, pallets, and other dunnage Assist with directing installation crews and assigning work as Team Lead responsibilities are developed Maintain company vehicles and equipment and report any issues Assist with warehouse organization, loading, and other duties as needed What You'll Need Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and insurable driving record Ability to pass a background check Ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical certification upon employment; company-paid DOT medical examination provided Reliable transportation to and from work Experience safely operating commercial box trucks or similar vehicles preferred Delivery, furniture installation, moving, construction, warehouse, or similar hands-on experience preferred Prior crew-lead or supervisory experience is preferred but not required Basic proficiency with hand and power tools Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Strong time-management and organizational skills Ability to follow project instructions, invoices, furniture plans, and placement directions Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy furniture and equipment throughout the workday, including items weighing 75+ lbs. individually and heavier items through team lifting and provided material-handling equipment Willingness to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday Willingness and availability to work overtime when project schedules require it Willingness to travel and stay overnight for occasional out-of-town projects. Travel may range from one night to approximately two weeks depending on the project Dependable attendance and punctuality are required Schedule Our standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM . Because we work around customer and project schedules, start and completion times may vary and overtime will be required when necessary. Occasional overnight and out-of-town travel is required. Professional Appearance Our employees work directly inside customer facilities and represent our company while on-site. A clean and professional appearance is required. Company shirts are provided. Appropriate khaki or denim pants/shorts and closed-toe footwear are required. Athletic wear, sweatpants, gym shorts, and similar clothing are not permitted while working at customer locations.
