Job Description
Job Overview Hauling Steel and Aluminum Products. 100 mile radius from Lawrenceburg TN. Day shift, home every night. We are seeking a professional Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver (Class A) to operate various types of trucks and transport freight safely and efficiently. This role involves delivering goods across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck driving, route management, and handling different types of freight including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and dump trucks. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service is essential for success in this position. Duties Operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across various routes to deliver freight efficiently. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks. Drive different types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers. Ensure proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and vehicle inspections. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure safe transportation of goods. Assist with route planning to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries by communicating professionally with clients. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for different trailer types (e.g., Refrigerated trailer, Tanker). Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery. Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred. Knowledge of various truck types such as flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off truck, and tractor-trailer. Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment. Previous experience with delivery driver roles or freight transportation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts is a plus. Good physical condition to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
