Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials (hazmat) transport equipment. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading/unloading equipment while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous goods and dangerous commodities. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal delivery schedules for route driving and freight distribution. Deliver freight to various destinations across regional or national routes, ensuring timely arrivals while maintaining safety on the road. Handle logistics cargo handling tasks such as securing loads properly on flatbeds or tanker trucks to prevent shifting during transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records related to hazardous materials regulations and truck operations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any unforeseen issues during transit. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Proven experience in delivery driving, route driving, or over-the-road (OTR) trucking routes involving freight transportation. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and dangerous goods handling is highly desirable. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and safety procedures related to truck driving and cargo handling. Strong physical stamina for manual loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, customers, and safety personnel.
