Job Description

Position Summary At Malin, we keep the world moving—and our drivers are at the heart of that mission. As a DOT-certified Driver / Equipment Transport Specialist based in Addison, TX, you will play a key role in safely transporting forklifts and material handling equipment between Malin branches, customer locations, and vendor sites across Texas, including daily regional routes between Addison, Houston, and San Antonio. This is not a traditional "bump and unload" driving position. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, securing, inspecting, and transporting forklifts and heavy equipment using forklifts and specialized transport procedures at Malin facilities. You'll work with a team that values safety, precision, professionalism, and operational excellence—supported by well-maintained equipment, strong leadership, and company-paid benefits that support your health and future. What You'll Do Safely operate company vehicles in full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, and local regulations.
Transport forklifts, lift trucks, and material handling equipment between Malin branches, vendors, and customer locations.
Perform thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and in-route inspections while maintaining accurate logs and required documentation.
Safely load and unload forklifts and heavy equipment at Malin sites using forklifts and approved loading procedures.
Secure cargo using chains, straps, binders, and proper tie-down methods to ensure safe transport.
Inspect customer and branch loading/unloading areas for clearance, safety, and proper delivery access.
Inspect transported equipment before and after delivery; photograph and document any damage as required.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, service teams, and branch personnel.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, fuel, maintenance, and compliance documentation.
Immediately report accidents, near-misses, violations, or equipment concerns to the Transportation Manager.
Perform routine vehicle checks, minor maintenance, fueling, and coordinate larger repairs as needed.
Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment in clean, safe, and professional operating condition.
Uphold all company safety standards while ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional operational support.
Attend paid training at Malin's Addison Headquarters for 3-4 weeks, with company-provided lodging and meals. What We're Looking For Professional Experience Minimum two years of experience operating Class A CDL tractor-trailer vehicles (40,000 lbs. or greater preferred).
Valid Class A CDL with an excellent driving record.
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles (must pass driving test).
Working knowledge of DOT and applicable transportation regulations.
Experience transporting oversized or overweight loads preferred.
Forklift operation experience preferred (training available if needed).
HAZMAT endorsement preferred (or willingness to obtain after hire).
Experience loading, unloading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment.
Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with internal teams. Physical Requirements Must pass DOT physical, drug screening, and required background checks.
Ability to routinely lift 40-50 lbs.
Ability to safely load, unload, inspect, and secure heavy equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to drive for extended periods, including overtime and regional routes.
Regular climbing, bending, and physical movement required.
Smartphone usage required for communication, route coordination, and documentation. What We Offer Competitive hourly pay and dependable regional scheduling.
Company-paid benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) with company match—all after 30 days of service.
Paid time off and holiday pay.
Paid training program with lodging and meals provided during initial training.
Supportive team environment with modern, well-maintained fleet and equipment.
Opportunities for long-term career growth and advancement within Malin.
Stable employment with a respected industry leader committed to safety and employee success.
