This is an independent contractor (1099) position. Trucks and trailers are provided and based at our Scrapworks Industrial facility in Beaumont. We haul scrap metal and industrial materials across Southeast Texas and need an experienced driver who knows dump trailers, flatbed securement and PTO operation.

Pay:

$25-30/hour based on experience

12070 U.S. 90, Beaumont, TX 77713 What the work involves Haul scrap metal, processed material and equipment on end-dump and flatbed trailers Engage and operate PTO-driven hydraulics to raise, dump and lower trailers safely Load, secure and tarp flatbed freight to DOT cargo securement standards Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects Keep accurate hours of service, bills of lading and scale tickets Pick up and deliver at scrap yards, mills, industrial plants and customer sites Work safely around loaders, material handlers and active yard traffic Requirements Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record Current DOT medical card Hands-on experience with PTO operation, dump trailers and flatbed hauling Working knowledge of load securement and hours-of-service rules Able to pass a DOT drug test and MVR review before contracting 21+ (federal requirement for interstate CMV operation) Able to climb on and off equipment, handle chains, binders and tarps, and work outdoors in Southeast Texas weather Big plus: scrap, demolition, aggregate or steel-mill hauling
