Monday-Friday Position Summary Kingdom Pipe & Steel is seeking a dependable, hardworking Yard Helper / Equipment Operator to join our team in Brenham, Texas. This is a hands-on position responsible for inspecting, loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing steel pipe while helping maintain safe and efficient daily yard operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, has experience operating a forklift or similar equipment, and takes pride in doing the job safely and accurately. Key Responsibilities Inspect inbound and outbound pipe shipments for quality, condition, and accuracy. Check pipe for correct wall thickness, abnormal welds, split seams, straightness, swells, and other potential defects. Load and unload pipe trucks safely and efficiently. Operate a forklift and other applicable yard equipment. Count, sort, and organize pipe into the correct inventory locations. Communicate pipe counts and inspection information to the Yard Foreman or Yard Manager. Remove stickers and prepare pipe as required during the inspection process. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pipe yard. Pick up debris, organize dunnage, and assist with routine yard maintenance. Follow company safety procedures and equipment-operating requirements. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to coordinate daily work. Learn additional yard responsibilities and assist in other areas as operational needs require. The position includes detailed inspection and inventory responsibilities in addition to general yard work. Equipment & Skills You'll Learn Kingdom Pipe & Steel provides opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge of pipe yard operations, including: Forklift operation and certification Hardness testing Tally gun operation Ultrasound equipment Pipe inspection and quality identification Inventory organization and material handling The original position specifically calls for learning the hardness tester, tally gun, and ultrasound machine, and notes that forklift certification can be completed through KPS. Qualifications Previous forklift or equipment-operating experience preferred. Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification. Previous yard, warehouse, steel, pipe, industrial, construction, or material-handling experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials as required. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Reliable transportation. Valid driver's license required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
