Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated CDL Driver to join our team at our facility in Childress Texas. This role involves operating commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with federal and state transportation regulations. Duties Operate tractor-trailers, including flatbeds, and tankers, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations. Collaborate with dispatch teams to plan routes and update delivery schedules as needed. Perform routine truck maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly. Uphold safety protocols during truck loading, unloading, and manual handling activities. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards. Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively for route planning. Strong manual handling skills for truck loading and unloading tasks. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance. Ability to work independently on long-distance over-the-road (OTR) routes while maintaining punctuality.
