Job Description

Mixer Truck Driver — Duties and Expectations The Mixer Truck Driver is responsible for operating a concrete mixer vehicle and all associated attachments safely and professionally. This role requires hands-on involvement in the loading and blending of cement, sand, gravel and water, ensuring the proper sequence and quantities are combined in the drum. The driver must be able to manipulate the drum under the material hoppers and control levers, chutes and discharge mechanisms to load, mix and place concrete according to the work order.
Primary responsibilities include:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and mixer, checking brakes, hydraulics, mixers and safety equipment. Confirm mix designs by reviewing work orders and material tickets prior to pick-up; ensure accuracy of materials loaded. Operate drum controls to manage mixing speed, direction and duration based on material properties and job requirements. Safely position the truck and operate chutes to discharge concrete where required on site, assisting with placement as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of loads, times, material sources and any deviations from the specified mix. The ideal candidate has at least 1 Year Experience in concrete mixing truck operation or similar roles, strong mechanical aptitude, and a working knowledge of concrete chemistry and slump control. Must have a class A or B CDL and clean driving record. Good communication skills are necessary to coordinate with dispatchers, site supervisors and labor crews. The job may require working in varying weather conditions, handling physically demanding tasks, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Drivers must be capable of troubleshooting minor mechanical issues and coordinating repairs with maintenance personnel when needed. Safety, precision and reliability are central to this position: the driver must consistently deliver the correct mix while protecting crew members and public safety during transport and placement. recblid ucaw9jgx6r8x63ka81voedecn9zdok
