This is a full-time W-2 employee position for a dependable, safety-focused driver who is comfortable operating both flatbed and dry van equipment. Our local drivers handle customer pickups and deliveries, trailer moves, yard moves, drop-and-hook assignments, and other local transportation needs throughout the El Paso area and surrounding region. We are looking for a professional driver who communicates well with Dispatch, takes care of company equipment, works safely, and can adapt to the daily needs of a local transportation operation. Schedule Monday through Friday - 10-hour on-duty shifts

7:00 AM start 10 hours on duty per scheduled workday Saturdays are generally not worked. However, Saturday work may occasionally become available and can be offered as an optional extra-pay opportunity for drivers who would like the additional work. Start times and assignments may occasionally change depending on customer appointments, freight volume, delivery schedules, or operational needs. Benefits Full-time W-2 employment Paid major holidays Monday through Friday regular work schedule Saturdays generally off Optional Saturday work may occasionally be available for additional pay Local driving position Consistent interaction with the same Dispatch and operations team Responsibilities The Local CDL Driver will be responsible for safely operating company tractor-trailer equipment and completing assigned pickups and deliveries.
Responsibilities include:
Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer equipment. Perform local pickups and deliveries as assigned by Dispatch. Operate both flatbed and dry van trailers. Properly secure flatbed freight using chains, straps, tarps, and other required securement equipment. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Properly use company ELD and electronic tracking systems. Maintain communication with Dispatch throughout the workday. Report delays, equipment problems, accidents, customer issues, or other concerns promptly. Complete and submit Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery documents, and other required paperwork. Ensure delivery paperwork includes required receiver signatures. Inspect and take care of assigned trucks, trailers, and safety equipment. Maintain company equipment in clean and safe operating condition. Follow company safety procedures and all applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements. Perform yard moves, trailer moves, drop-and-hook assignments, and other local transportation duties as needed. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when working with customers, warehouse personnel, Dispatch, and other employees. TAGL's current driver guidelines require safe tractor-trailer operation, cargo securement, ELD documentation, daily inspections, communication with Dispatch, and professional interaction with customers and employees. The guidelines also require drivers to provide proper POD documentation and report truck, trailer, or ELD issues to management. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet the following requirements: Valid Class A CDL required Minimum 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience required Local driving experience preferred Must be able and willing to operate both flatbed and dry van equipment Flatbed experience strongly preferred Must be comfortable with proper load securement procedures Must be able to handle the physical workload associated with local and flatbed operations Must be able to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections Must be comfortable using ELD systems and mobile applications used for dispatch and documentation Must be dependable and report to work as scheduled Must communicate effectively with Dispatch Must maintain valid licenses and required driving documentation Must comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations Must be available for required drug/alcohol testing and FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements Your current guidelines specifically require drivers to keep work documentation valid and participate in FMCSA Clearinghouse and drug/alcohol compliance requirements.
