Job Description

Overview We are looking for a driver to run our 53 ft dry van for

ONE WEEK

while we go out of town from October 12th to October 16th. Driver will make anywhere from 1,500 t0 2,000 for the week. The driver will be home every other day.

Responsibilities Safely operate various types of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel and time. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety standards. Manage delivery driving tasks across over-the-road (OTR) routes, maintaining communication with dispatch for route adjustments or updates. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight transportation across various route types. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques while ensuring safety standards are met. Understanding of hazardous materials regulations and proper handling procedures for dangerous goods. Experience with truck loading/unloading processes and logistics cargo handling procedures. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated; experience with manual transmission is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Excellent driving skills combined with a strong commitment to safety and customer service excellence.
