Job Description
Road Construction - Equipment Operator & CDL Driver/Laborer We are currently hiring for two Road Construction positions: 1. Equipment Operator 2. CDL Driver / Laborer Both positions are hands-on, outdoor positions working as part of a road construction and maintenance crew. We are looking for dependable individuals who are comfortable working outdoors, working around heavy equipment, and pitching in wherever needed.
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
The Equipment Operator will operate heavy equipment used in road construction, repair, maintenance, drainage, and dirt work.Duties may include:
Operate heavy construction and road-maintenance equipment Operate equipment such as backhoes, excavators, loaders, skid steers, graders, rollers, tractors, and similar equipment Perform grading, dirt work, ditch and drainage maintenance Load and move dirt, gravel, asphalt, and other materials Assist with roadway construction and repairs Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Assist the crew with other duties as needed Follow all jobsite and equipment safety proceduresQualifications:
Previous heavy equipment operating experience required Road construction, dirt work, excavation, or similar experience preferred Valid driver's license Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Dependable with a strong work ethic and safety mindsetCDL DRIVER / LABORER
The CDL Driver/Laborer will drive commercial vehicles for the road crew and perform manual labor when not driving. This is not a driving-only position.Duties may include:
Operate dump trucks and other commercial vehicles Haul dirt, gravel, asphalt, equipment, and other materials Load and unload materials and equipment Assist with road construction and repair Perform general manual labor using shovels, rakes, hand tools, and power tools Assist with asphalt, concrete, drainage, culvert, and dirt work Set up cones, barricades, and traffic-control areas Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Assist equipment operators and other crew members as neededQualifications:
Valid CDL required Acceptable driving record Previous dump truck, construction, or road crew experience preferred Must be willing and able to perform physical/manual labor in addition to driving Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Dependable and able to work safely as part of a crew What We're Looking For We need people who understand that road construction is a team effort.
