Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Over-the-Road (OTR) Tanker Driver (1099) to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers equipped with tanker configurations to transport non-hazardous freight across long distances. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and commitment to delivering freight efficiently will ensure our customers receive their goods on time and in perfect condition. This position offers an exciting opportunity for drivers who thrive on route driving, manual transmission operation, and managing logistics cargo handling on a national scale. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with a tanker trailer configurations across over-the-road routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems, planning efficient delivery schedules while adhering to DOT hours-of-service regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking tank integrity. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and emergency responders as needed during deliveries or in case of incidents. Ensure proper handling of logistics cargo, including manual handling procedures for freight loading/unloading and truck loading/unloading operations. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, specifically with tractor-trailers such as tankers. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License), with endorsements for Hazmat (preferred) and tanker operations (required) Experience operating manual transmission trucks and utilizing GPS navigation systems for route planning. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes is essential.
