CDL Truck Driver - Sod/Grass HaulingJob Summary We are seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This position is primarily responsible for hauling pallets of grass/sod from our farm to customer and jobsite locations. The driver will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer, loading and unloading pallets using a forklift, securing the load, and making timely deliveries. This is a hands-on driving and material-handling position . The ideal candidate will have commercial driving experience, a strong safety record, and the ability to safely operate a forklift to load and unload pallets of grass. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations Transport pallets of grass/sod from the farm to customer locations and jobsites Safely operate a forklift to load and unload pallets of grass/sod Inspect loads and properly secure cargo before transporting Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment Follow designated routes and delivery schedules Safely maneuver and position the truck at farms, jobsites, customer locations, and other delivery locations Communicate with dispatch regarding deliveries, route changes, delays, and other issues Complete required delivery tickets, logs, and other transportation documentation Maintain a clean and safe truck, trailer, and work area Follow all company safety policies and applicable

regulations Assist with other transportation and material-handling duties as needed Qualifications & Skills Valid Class A CDL Clean and acceptable driving record Previous tractor-trailer/commercial driving experience preferred Forklift operation experience required Ability to safely load, unload, and secure palletized grass/sod Ability to operate a manual-transmission truck preferred Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations Ability to safely operate equipment in farm, residential, commercial, and construction jobsite environments Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules Strong communication and customer-service skills Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to safety Physical Requirements Ability to safely enter and exit a tractor-trailer and operate a forklift Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb as necessary during loading and unloading Ability to safely inspect and secure loads Position This is a farm-to-jobsite driving position focused primarily on hauling grass/sod from the farm to delivery locations. The truck and trailer will remain at the farm at the end of each workday. Forklift operation is a required part of this position. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading pallets of grass/sod at the farm and delivery locations.
