Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with Automatic or manual transmission on long-distance OTR routes, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Drive various types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers to transport freight such as hazardous materials or dangerous goods when qualified. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries. Load and unload freight on docks, handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage or safety hazards. Secure loads properly for transportation, especially when handling hazardous or sensitive materials like dangerous goods or hazardous chemicals. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck safety, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying load security. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with DOT regulations while providing excellent customer service during deliveries. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to operate Automatic or manual transmission trucks safely over long distances on OTR routes. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations regarding hours of service, load securement, and safety protocols.
