Truck Driver - Route Driver with CDL Class A or CDL Class B with HazMat

Job Description

Job description: Route Driving (Propane and/or Welding Gas Cylinder). 2 Years Minimum Experience Preferred. Job purpose Hybrid roll of Propane Route and Cylinder Route Delivery Driver - will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. The Propane Route and Cylinder Route Delivery Driver will ensure that all items are complete, packed or loaded correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. This position requires you to have excellent verbal customer service skills and must be punctual. Customers should be provided with excellent service. The Propane Route and Cylinder Route Delivery Driver must be a conscientious driver and adhere to road safety rules. Duties and responsibilities Customer Satisfaction and Retention When delivering product maintain meaningful customer contact. Work to meet a customer's delivery time. Notify Company representative of any customer requests for product. Notify Company representatives of any current customer dissatisfaction or potential arising issue and then work efficiently to cure or problem solve issues in an effective manner. Road and Driving Safety Maintain delivery truck in a safe and clean manner. Adhere to Vehicle Pre-Checks prior to each shift. Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record. Report any infraction prior to the end of the shift and complete appropriate paperwork. Attend or designate monthly safety meetings as required Correct any safety issue or problem effectively and efficiently. Delivery and Sales Load all necessary items as required to conduct deliveries. Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete. Assist with loading and unloading items from delivery trucks. Ability to operate necessary loading machinery such as forklifts, etc. Create sales tickets and complete route sales as appropriate. Check open orders to ensure all orders are delivered. Delivery Truck Ensure daily that the Delivery Truck is maintained, cleaned and in operating condition. Keep maintenance log of truck up to date and conduct maintenance checks as required. Remove all debris, trash and unwanted items from the delivery truck daily. Other Duties Perform other duties as required and directed that fall within the scope of the Company's purposes and direction.
Qualifications Qualifications include:
Minimum H.S. Diploma Preferred delivery experience Preferred but not necessary knowledge of Welding Supply and Gas Operation preferred 1-3 Years of Safety Experience related to Supply and Gas Operations Problem solving and analytical processes Excellent verbal communication skills Punctual Training as directed by Supervisor to include Propane Training Valid Driver License CDL (Class A or B) with Hazmat Endorsement Working conditions This position will require working conditions that include completing tasks outside, warehouse locations, other branch locations, community locations and customer locations. The position will need to maintain a valid CDL driver license with endorsements as required. The Propane Route and Cylinder Route Driver will need to maintain proper attire, clean appearance and PPE when performing work as necessary. Physical requirements The Propane Route and Cylinder Route Delivery Driver will perform manual labor as required to complete a task. There will be times that heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time will exist. The Propane Route and Cylinder Route Delivery Driver will adhere to all Safety Measures related to the Company Policy and Procedures.
