Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Load, secure, transport, and unload freight such as goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, or tanker cargo with precision and care Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor progress, and adapt to changing conditions for efficient delivery schedules Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Follow proper procedures for handling dangerous goods and hazardous materials in accordance with hazardous materials regulations Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in compliance with legal requirements Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery times and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A, appropriate for the vehicle type being operated, with a clean driving record Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving Familiarity with trailer operations, flatbed hauling, tanker trucks, or automobile transportation is preferred Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for manual handling and truck loading/unloading Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual handling tasks safely Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning and real-time adjustments Excellent manual dexterity for load & unload activities and logistics cargo handling Physical stamina to meet the demands of long hours on the road and manual truck loading/unloading tasks Asphalt Truck Driver Luke's Asphalt Paving - Spring Branch, TXBuild a Career in the Asphalt Industry Luke's Asphalt Paving is hiring dependable, hardworking individuals to join our asphalt paving crews.
