Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team in Tomball, TX as a CDL Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. As a vital link in our logistics chain, you'll be responsible for transporting goods over the road (OTR) routes, managing cargo handling, and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly and our clients satisfied. Most routes are local; but occasional further travel may be needed. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, and flatbeds, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs across OTR routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques. Manage vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; report any concerns promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in line with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery statuses, or potential delays to optimize logistics operations. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for various cargo types such as freight, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely.
