Job Description
GFL Environmental seeks a reliable CDL Driver to safely operate commercial vehicles on local routes, supporting waste collection and environmental services. You will complete daily inspections, follow DOT and company safety standards, load and unload materials, and provide courteous service to residential and commercial customers. Work closely with dispatch and operations teams in a fast-paced, safety-first culture with strong training, advancement opportunities, and the chance to support sustainable waste solutions in your community. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL commercial trucks on assigned local routes Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required logs Collect, transport, and unload waste, recyclables, or liquids per company standards Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors to manage daily schedules Provide professional, courteous service to residential and commercial customers Report vehicle issues, safety concerns, and incidents promptly Maintain clean, organized vehicles and adhere to environmental regulations Required Skills Commercial truck driving CDL vehicle inspection Route navigation and planning Safe loading and unloading Air brake operation Hydraulic lift operation DOT safety compliance Defensive driving Recordkeeping and logbooks Basic vehicle troubleshooting
